Next-Generation Core Products Development Now Underway for Stepping Ahead
A highly coordinated R&D system centered around the Central Research Laboratory and the Animal Life Science (ALS) Laboratory encourages the personnel of each institute to come up with flexible ideas for promoting unique products development in the forefront of the veterinary drug industry.

Research activities are carried out in compliance with the GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) standards at the Central Research Laboratory, which is made up of 5 divisions, namely the Gene Technology Research Division, Cell Technology Research Division, Pharmaceutical Research Division, Biological Research Division, and Animal Experimental Center. Here, efforts are made for ensuring the effective use of botanical and water resources. Consequently, our Central Research Laboratory is evaluated as an eco-friendly research facility.
The ALS Laboratory aims to develop innovative and world-class technologies and medicines in the veterinary health care field by applying genetic recombination technologies with one of the latest equipment in Japan. At the ALS Bioprocess Laboratory Annex*1, especially, research and development on next-generation core technologies and new medical supplies applied with the core technology we developed are being conducted.
In 2009, we strengthened the poultry research field further more by acquiring "Nippon Biologicals, Inc.", whose activity is concentrated on research and development of live vaccines for poultry.
